Will Bacon (Lower Sixth) has been crowned British Schools Small-bore Rifle Association (BSSRA) senior champion.
Competitors fired three rounds at their own school ranges with the cards being sent to the BSSRA to compile the results, with Will hitting a fantastic 296 out of 300, including one faultless round of 100, to take the title.
The 2020 champion and fellow Perse representative Mila Henderson-Gill (Upper Sixth) were tied with two other participants just one shot behind on 295. However, Mila, who was selected for the England A team in February, finished third overall once scores from the qualifying round were taken into consideration.
Adelaide Harliono-Evans (Year 11) also earned a medal after finishing 10th with an overall score of 291.
Further Perse success came in the BSSRA junior championship final, with Adelaide Harliono-Evans, Carla Hollis and Liliana French (all Year 11) gaining medals after coming fourth, fifth and eighth respectively.
The Perse A team of Will Bacon, Alessandra French (Upper Sixth), Liliana French, Adelaide Harliono-Evans and Mila Henderson-Gill also won the top division of the BSSRA Summer League. Liliana and Mila led the way in the overall individual score averages for the tournament with incredible mean scores per round of 98.2 out of 100.
Meanwhile, Carla Campos Zanotti Gerosa (Year 8) posted the highest average score of 98.2 in the BSSRA Tyro summer competition for newcomers to the sport.
Coach Kevin Pilcher said: “They’ve worked really hard and they’ve all done exceptional well.”
