Charity virtual non-uniform day proves a hit at The Perse
12 Feb 2021
Perse pupils dressed to impress in the school’s first virtual non-uniform day to help raise funds for the Raspberry Pi Foundation.
They were invited to dress up as something beginning with the first letter of their name to support Raspberry Pi, who have teamed up with UK Youth and a network of grassroots youth and community organisations to help provide computers for disadvantaged youngsters across the country.
The event was organised by the Sixth Form Charities Committee, who also held a series of fundraising online lunchtime masterclasses in pancake art, scrunchie making and origami.
Charities Co-ordinator Millie Diss said: “It’s been brilliant to see so many pupils get involved and have a bit of light-hearted fun in these difficult times while raising money for a brilliant cause. There were lots of smiles all round.”
There is still a chance for pupils to contribute to the appeal by taking part in the Raspberry Pi Valentines Voyage. Participants in the fitness challenge need to run, jog, cycle, scoot or walk 3km and donate £3 to the cause here by Sunday 21 February.
