GCSE results 2020
20 Aug 2020
The Perse is celebrating the performance of the school’s 178 Year 11 students who have achieved some excellent I/GCSE grades.
Overall, 87% of Perse entries were graded 9 or 8, which is broadly equivalent to the former GCSE A* grade. The 9-7 rate (broadly equivalent to A*-A) was 97%, while 67% of entries were graded at 9.
The cancellation of public exams due to the Covid-19 pandemic means that 2020 I/GCSE results have been calculated using the higher of centre-assessed (teacher) grades or the exam board standardised grades.
The Perse I/GCSE 2020 results are as follows:
Year (% cumulative) | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2020 | 67 | 87 | 97 | 99.4 | 99.9 | 100 | 100 |

Head Ed Elliott commented: “We congratulate all of our GCSE and IGCSE students on their excellent achievements in difficult circumstances in 2020.
“The centre-assessed grades that have been awarded reflect holistic judgements about how pupils would have done over the full duration of their courses and our teachers’ estimates of the most likely grades students would have achieved if they had sat their exams.”
