Perse students on target with England Schools team call-ups

Perse students are hitting the target with success on the rifle range.
Six students have been selected for England teams for the BSSRA National Match, where they will face opposition from the Home Nations as well as New Zealand, based on their performances in competitions throughout the season.
Sasha Karabasova (Upper Sixth) and Will Bacon (Year 11) have been picked for the A team, while Mila Henderson-Gill (Lower Sixth) and Arushi Mandal (Upper Sixth) have been chosen for the B team. Alessandra French (Lower Sixth) and Millie Reynolds (Upper Sixth) will be in the C and D teams respectively.
Meanwhile, five Perse students have made it through to the British Schools Small-bore Rifle Association (BSSRA) senior final after firing three rounds with a maximum total score of 300 available.
Mila Henderson-Gill dropped just five shots overall as she scored 295 to be joint leader in the qualifying stage. Sasha Karabasova hit 292 and Thomas Morris (Upper Sixth) scored 291, while Will Bacon and Alessandra French also reached the finals with respective totals of 290 and 288.
There was further success for Will Bacon as he booked a place in the BSSRA junior final after scoring 199 out of a possible 200. Liliana French (Year 10) also qualified after recording 198 over two rounds.
