Perse Prep pupils get quizzical to qualify for national finals

Youngsters at The Perse Prep have showcased their general knowledge know-how by reaching the Quiz Club national finals.
Two teams of four children (with one pupil from each year group from Years 3 to 6 in each team) representing the Prep took part in the regional heats of the competition at St Faith’s School.
Children had to answer 40 general knowledge questions on individual handsets, but worked as teams to get the most points. They faced a wide variety of topics including current affairs, geographical features and important historical events.
The team of George, Lynden, Benjamin and Alexander came first, while the team of George, Charles, Lexie and Max were runners-up as both groups booked their places in the final at the Dominion Theatre in London in June.
Prep teacher Boo Tooze, who looks after the general knowledge teams, was thrilled with their success.
She said: “I am extremely proud of both teams for their display of general knowledge and, more importantly, teamwork in the regional heats. All the children worked very hard to prepare and have been eager to practise together.
“We are all looking forward to the national finals and will resume our ‘brain training’ after the half term.”
