Perse students earn computer science competition awards
14 Feb 2020
Three Perse students were among the national finalists in the elite category of the UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge.
Lower Sixth students Jude Burling, Tom Hodges and Max Bennett did extremely well to make it to the final in the elite (16 to 18) age group, with only around 50 entrants making it through from a field of more than 7,000 participants in the competition, which is supported by the Raspberry Pi Foundation.
To reach the national final at the University of Oxford’s Department of Computer Science, they had to solve a variety of problems inspired by computer science topics within a time limit.
Jude, Tom and Max each received a finalists’ certificate from Eljakim Schrijvers from the international Bebras organisation.
