Feathered friends fascinate Perse Pelican pupils
25 Nov 2019
Reception pupils at The Perse Pelican met some feathered friends during a special visit from the Raptor Foundation.
The children enjoyed getting to meet owls and a hawk brought along from the Cambridgeshire rescue centre, which provides medical care and rehabilitation for injured birds of prey.
They were treated to a fabulous flying show as well as discovering more about how the birds use camouflage and the different types of eggs they lay.
The visit tied in with the topic of ‘night and day’, which has included looking at nocturnal and diurnal animals, learning about the features of these animals and what makes them special.
