Perse pupil joins computational thinking elite with Bebras Challenge success

Matthew Cain (Year 7) has been rewarded for his efforts after making it to the national final of the UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge.
With just the top 60 from a field of almost 60,000 entrants into the junior category (ages 10 to 12) being invited to take part in the final, the Perse pupil did extremely well to qualify for the event at Oxford University’s Department of Computer Science.
To reach the final of the Bebras Challenge, which is supported by Google, Matthew had to solve a series of problems related to computer science topics during an allotted time. Matthew received a special finalists’ certificate from Professor Peter Millican in a ceremony at Hertford College, Oxford.
