Perse rugby player stars on Lambs debut

26 Apr 2018

Patrick Noroozi (Year 11) had double cause for joy after making his debut for the Lambs – the England Independent Schools team – and winning the man of the match award.

The Lambs U16 team suffered defeat to a strong academy side from Aviva Premiership club Gloucester in the game at Stow on the Wold.

However, Patrick, playing in the back row, gave his all in his first appearance for the national side and earned the man of the match honours as a result.

Perse Head of Rugby Liam St John was thrilled to see Patrick finally get his chance to play for the Lambs after a previous match was cancelled due to bad weather.

He said: “It was a great and richly deserved opportunity for Patrick, with the man of the match award being the icing on the cake.

“Patrick is incredibly hard working on and off the field, so it is really pleasing to see him get recognition for that.

“It again highlights the value of the Independent School Lambs in providing an alternative pathway for young players within rugby.”
