Talented golfer Oliver Brunt (Year 9) has helped the England ISGA team to victory against Scotland in the inaugural Coda Cup U15 International Match.
England beat Scotland 11-6 overall to take the spoils in the showdown at Collingtree Park Golf Club in Northamptonshire.
Oliver played his part in the triumph, winning 1 up with partner Ben Newman against Lyle Murdoch and Sam Hall in their opening foursomes encounter before defeating the same opponents 3 & 2 in their second game, played under the better ball format.
The pair’s results helped England hold a 6.5-1.5 lead going into the singles matches, where Oliver’s clash with Jan Voltas Mereno was halved.
Oliver’s international success continues a fine season, which has seen him crowned Cambridgeshire Schools U18 champion at the age of just 13.
The Perse pupil will look to continue his run of form when he plays for the county at the NASUWT South East of England Schools Championships at Bury St Edmunds in June and the English Schools U16 national final at Thetford in July.
He will also represent The Perse with Will McKernan (Year 8) in the ISGA Junior League final at Radley in June after the pair recently came through the regional qualifiers.
