Students take starring roles in Perse Charity Cabaret
5 Feb 2018
Students put on a sensational show of song and dance at the annual Perse School Charity Cabaret.
Arranged by the Sixth Form Charities Committee, the concert raised funds for teenage mental health cause Stem4, The Perse Bursary Fund (supporting those who would not otherwise be able to access a Perse education) and Perse Outreach, where pupils and staff work with and support a number of different projects in the local community.
The show featured a wide variety of musical numbers, covering everything from jazz and easy listening to rock’n’roll and pop, with performances from talented soloists, duos and groups.
The Perse Big Band provided backing on several popular favourites, including Come Fly with Me, Mack the Knife and Big Spender, while the Accapelicans vocal group performed Laura Mvula’s hit She followed by the Four Seasons’ December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night).
The Senior Prefects rounded off the Charity Cabaret with an entertaining mix of rap, dancing and wacky outfits.
