Four Perse shooters have been named in the England Schools rifle squad for a forthcoming home international.
Sasha Karabasova and Tisa Manandhar (both Year 11) have been picked for the England B team, while Lydia Balon (Year 11) and Matthew Dougherty (Upper Sixth) are included in the England C group to compete in the British Schools Small-Bore Rifle Association National Match.
Perse shooting coach Kevin Pilcher said: “The England team is selected based on average scores over the whole season, so to have four Perse students in the squad is very good.”
Tisa Manandhar and Alessandra French (Year 10) are also in the running for success elsewhere after reaching the finals of the BSSRA Championships.
Tisa, who won the English Schools Long Range title last November, will aim to add to her honours after qualifying for both the senior and junior finals of the BSSRA competition. She fired a total of 286 out of 300 to make the cut for the senior final and scored 200 out of 200 to earn her place in the junior event.
Alessandra was not far behind, with her tally of 199 out of 200 enough to ensure her spot in the junior final.
