Lambs call-up for Perse rugby player
9 Feb 2018
Patrick Noroozi (Year 11) has been called up by the Lambs – the England Independent Schools rugby team – for their forthcoming round of matches.
Following trials at Uppingham School last Sunday, Patrick has been included in a 35-strong U16 squad to represent the Lambs in a series of games between now and April.
The Lambs travel to Merthyr Tydfil to take on the Boys Club of Wales on 18 February and face Aviva Premiership side Worcester Warriors’ academy team at Sixways on 1 March.
They head to north Wales for a tour from 31 March to 8 April, during which the Lambs will play a three-match series against a Scotland U16 representative team.
The season will be rounded off with a showdown against top flight club Gloucester’s academy side at Hartpury College on 22 April.
Perse Head of Rugby Liam St John was delighted that Patrick had earned his place in the Lambs squad.
He said: “This is a superb opportunity for Patrick and one that is well deserved. He really is somebody who eats, sleeps and breathes rugby.
“He has put a lot of extra work into his personal skills and fitness over the past couple of years, as well as giving a lot of his time to help coach the next generation of Perse rugby players.
“We’ve had a number of pupils represent the Lambs at U18 before but Patrick is our first at U16, which is still a relatively new team in the Lambs pathway.
“The Lambs play a brand of ‘fast and free’ rugby which is thrilling to watch and really excites the players. The opportunity to tour as well as meet new players from different schools all makes for some great life experiences.”
