Perse students enjoy Combined Cadet Force field adventure
19 Oct 2017
Around 40 Perse students took part in a challenging Combined Cadet Force field weekend at RAF Barnham.
The first job for pupils when they arrived was to learn how to use a ration pack and how to cook with it before putting up shelters in the woods.
Pupils then took part in a range of activities, run by the senior ranking cadets, including camouflaging, handling weapons, fitness and first aid, which featured stretcher races and situational tasks under timed conditions.
As night fell, students learned how to make a fire before forming groups to take part in a mission to find English and drama teacher Miss Fagan in the middle of a pitch black field, with the aim of being stealthy and silent to reach their target without being caught and earn points for their team.
Pupils rounded off the weekend with a series of laser tag games using a variety of situations and objectives.
