Sir Peter Hall (1949)
It is with great sadness that we report that Sir Peter Hall (1949) passed away after a long illness. Sir Peter was a giant of the British theatre whose achievements included the foundation of the Royal Shakespeare Company and directorship of the National Theatre.
Many OPs will remember sharing his superb rendition of Hamlet for the Perse Players. It was clear from an early age that Sir Peter had immense talent. There will be countless tributes in the media and we will reflect on his life in the next edition of the OP magazine.
Our thoughts are with Sir Peter’s family at this sad time.
