Student playwright shortlisted for National Theatre award
Adele Chu (Year 11) has been shortlisted for the National Theatre’s ‘New Views’ playwriting award for her play For Me.
Competing against over 700 other applicants, Adele’s play reached the top 10 in the country – the first time The Perse has had a student perform so well in the competition. Judges praised Adele’s work for having, ““real sophistication, wit, intelligence and political insight.”

In July, Adele’s play will have a rehearsed reading at the National Theatre, read by actors in the National Theatre Company.
