Perse Pupil reaches final of British Biology Olympiad
Upper Sixth student Jiaqi Chen, 18, is competing in the final round of the UK Biology Olympiad next week, having won her place against 7500 other competitors.
Jiaqi will compete against 15 other finalists from across the UK in the prestigious competition taking place at the University of Warwick from Sunday 9 to Wednesday 12 April.
The British Biology Olympiad (BBO) challenges students with an interest in Biology to expand and extend their talents, while inspiring them to continue studying the subject beyond A-level.
The competition will test pupils’ skills and abilities in a mixture of theory and practical tests which will see the top four students go on to represent the UK at the International Biology Olympiad, also being held in Warwick in July.
Listen below to hear Jiaqi Chen explain where her love of biology comes from and how she feels about the competition.
