Former Perse pupil Tom Miller has been awarded a BAFTA in the 2016 British Academy Children’s Awards as the producer of the children’s comedy Horrible Histories Special: Sensational Shakespeare.
The Horrible Histories series, based on the books by Terry Deary, will be familiar to many of our younger pupils for its irreverent take on well-known historical events and personalities.
Tom brought a wealth of experience in producing comedy programmes to Horrible Histories, having worked with famous names such as Joan Rivers, Graham Norton and Sarah Millican.
After leaving The Perse in 1997 Tom studied history at St Peter’s College, Oxford, so his BAFTA combines his passion for history with his love of comedy. You can see Tom win his BAFTA here (starting at 1 hour 17 minutes).
