Glenn Kirkham set to return as Director of Sport
Former GB Hockey player Glenn Kirkham will return to The Perse to take up the role of Director of Sport.
The double Olympian and former Great Britain hockey Captain left The Perse in 2012 and will return to lead the Sports department from September.
“I’m thrilled to have been appointed as the new Director of Sport” said Kirkham. “I look forward to continuing the excellent work of Simon Ball over the past decade. The significant development of sport along with my previous experience at The Perse meant that it was an opportunity that was too good to turn down. I know I will have the pleasure of leading a fantastic department in what are very exciting times for sport at the school.”
Senior Deputy Head Dan Cross said: “We’re delighted to welcome back Glenn Kirkham to The Perse as Director of Sport from September. Glenn is an exceptional coach and has much to offer everyone in The Perse sport community.”
Glenn made 223 appearances for England and Great Britain and competed in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. He has also competed in two Commonwealth Games and is a European Gold Medallist.
Glenn previously worked at The Perse for 9 years (2005-2014) in different roles including Assistant Director of Sport and Head of Hockey. He is married with two young children.
