The Perse School

Wing Commander Tony Billinghurst OBE, 1925 – 2016

20 Dec 2016

It is with great sadness that the School has learnt that Tony Billinghurst passed away yesterday.

Tony will be remembered by generations of OPs and colleagues for his huge contribution to School life. As well as being a teacher of French, he was Master of Northwold House for many years and took a very active role in the extra-curricular life of the School. He was Master of Cricket from 1964 – 1990, Contingent Commander of the CCF from 1966 – 1990 (for which distinguished service he was awarded an OBE), and led many expeditions as Scout Leader of the School’s 5th Cambridge Scout Troop.

Old Perseans may wish to write in with their memories of Tony, and a full obituary will appear in the next edition of OP News.
