Team progress in Rugby NatWest Cup:

14 Oct 2016

Tuesday was a Natwest Cup double header, with both the 1st XV and U15A sides in action. The 1st XV managed to overturn local rivals, The Leys 35-14, whilst the U15A snatched a dramatic late win 17-15 away to Felsted School.

At Felsted, Tom Roddis and James Ross both scored well-taken tries to end the first half down(12-15) following another try and penalty to the hosts. The second half was to be a memorable one with the boys producing some of their best rugby this season. Recognising that Felsted’s strength came from their backs the boys starved them of possession by keeping the ball in tight, making them have to work hard to win it back.

The team put together 12 phases of rugby with Patrick Noorozi Rad eventually breaking a determined Felsted defence to score what was to be the winning points in a fantastic game of rugby. It was a performance that the squad should be proud of and with confidence high, we look forward to hosting St Joseph’s College, Ipswich in round 3.
