The Perse School

Family Fun Day to support three worthy charities

Over 1000 pupils and family members from the Upper, Prep and Pelican came and enjoyed a brilliant afternoon on 11th June for the Family Fun Day. The day took the form of a fete, with food stalls, games, music and more.

There were numerous different activities and challenges for everyone to try, including Crazy Golf, Bouncy Castles and traditional fete games such as Apple Bobbing, Hoopla, and Hook a Duck. A popular favourite was Throw the Sponge in which James Piper, Head of The Prep, was often chosen to be the target. Many prizes were available to be won in the raffle, tombola, and the challenge of ‘Guess the number of sweets in the jar’. Guests were lucky enough to have performances from The Pelican Choir, and also a couple of Upper students who were busking throughout the day.

This event was all in aid of the three very deserving charities that the School is supporting during its 400th anniversary year: The East Anglian Children’s Hospice; Christel House and the School’s An Enduring Gift campaign.

It was a fantastic occasion with a great atmosphere, and over £2800 was raised for the three charities.
