A merry Medieval time
Year 5 had a fabulous day stepping back in time to Medieval Britain as part of their study of the period.
Pupils came to school in an array of beautiful costumes and Bibi Elliott had even made her own quiver, bow and arrows.
The day started with an introduction to Medieval costume and fashion. Pupils dressed up in authentic outfits and gave a parade of fashion spanning three centuries.
The children attended a variety of fascinating workshops during which they learned to write with a quill and to design heraldry based on thirteenth century surety barons. The climax of the day was an exciting re-enactment of the Battle of Bannockburn. One Year 5 pupil described the experience as a “really fun way of learning about the past!”
