Pupils storm to success in UKMT Team Maths Challenge

Our young mathematicians have done exceptionally well in the Cambridge round of the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Team Maths Challenge.

The Perse team of Hari Prasad, Vikram Singh, Ed Gaskarth and Jude Burling were crowned winners of the Cambridge round of the competition earlier this week.

This team competition tests skills of logic, maths, speed and teamwork over four rounds. The Perse team achieved full marks in the ‘shuttle’ and ‘crossnumber’ rounds and only answered one question incorrectly in the group round. They were the only team to completely finish the ‘relay’ round, doing so with 10 minutes to spare!

The team now progress to the national finals in June, where they will be competing with the best-performing schools in the country.

Well done to the team!
