Perse team crowned East Anglian champs in general knowledge competition
3 Mar 2016
Earlier this week, our Senior General Knowledge team – Jamie Golding (captain), Pratap Singh, Daniel Morgan and Oliver Phillipson – played in the regional final of the Schools’ Challenge General Knowledge competition, which is based on the format of University Challenge.
They defeated Langley School 730 points to 420, after answering questions on music (‘In the first inversion of the A minor triad, what is the lowest note?’) to superheroes (‘Which superhero had an Aunt May?’) to religion (‘Who would wear an alb and chasuble?’).
This success means that the team now progress to the inter-regional round, where they will face King Edward VI Grammar School, Louth.
This is the seventh successive year that a Perse team has held the East Anglian senior champion title.
Well done to the team, and we wish them the very best of luck in the next stage of the competition.
