The Perse School

CCF biennial inspection

Last week, the cadets of The Perse’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF), in perfectly ironed uniform, paraded outside the Margaret Stubbs ready for their biennial inspection.

Lance Corporal Matthew Dougherty in Year 11 greeted vising inspector Group Captain Bland, who was impressed with the cadets’ turn out. Cadets Freya Watrasiewicz and Isabelle Crossman (both in the Lower Sixth) then gave an impressive speech covering all of the exciting activities that the group had been involved in over the past year.

After tea and biscuits, Group Captain Bland then got a glimpse of some of these fantastic activities: Alex Griffiths (Lower Sixth) led the group to safety in a super first aid scenario and the inspector was most impressed by the ‘magic circle’ drill display. He then moved on to see Sasha Karabasova (Year 9) and others in action on the shooting range before ending with group leadership tasks.

During the debrief, the inspector seemed very impressed with what he had seen and the cadets had the opportunity to ask him insightful questions about his life in the RAF.
