Pupils receive awards in National Biology Olympiad

Earlier this month, our Sixth Form biologists took part in the National Biology Olympiad.

This competition attracts over 7,200 entrants from across the country. This challenging contest allows students to extend their knowledge beyond the curriculum. Perse pupils have achieved some fantastic results: they were awarded 11 Gold awards, 9 silver awards, 24 Bronze awards, 12 Highly Commended Awards and 13 Commended awards.

A special mention goes to Salvador Buse in the Upper Sixth and Thomas Read in the Lower Sixth, who both received Gold awards and scored highly enough to be entered into the next round of the competition. If they are successful in this round, they stand a chance to be selected to represent the UK at the 2016 International Biology Olympiad, which will take place in Vietnam in July.
