Students reach national final of Performing Shakespeare competition
Thirteen members of Year 9 travelled to Springwood High School in King’s Lynn yesterday to take part in the regional final of the English-Speaking Union’s ‘Performing Shakespeare’ competition.
They had all won places at this stage after all members of the three Year 9 drama sets submitted entries for the first stage of the competition via video before Christmas.
At the regional final, Perse students (Tisa Manandhar and Jess Painter) not only won both the top places, but also the ‘Highly Commended’ award went to Oliver Buckingham. Tisa and Jess will now go on to the national final of the competition to be held on the stage of the Gielgud Theatre in London on 8 March.
Well done to everyone who took part, and we wish Tisa and Jess the best of luck in the national final.
