Perse students invited to maths training camp in Hungary

Two Perse sixth formers have enjoyed considerable success in the first round of the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) British Mathematical Olympiad (BMO1).

Two of our students – Renzhi Zhou and Thomas Read – made it into the top 20 nationally of those who sat the first round of the BMO – an excellent achievement.

Based on their performance in the first round of the competition, Thomas and Renzhi have been selected to attend the International Maths Olympiad training camp over the Christmas break, where they will spend a week training with the Hungarian International Mathematical Olympiad squad.

To add to this success, Renzhi was one of only nine students in the country to have scored full marks in the paper.

We wish Thomas and Renzhi the best of luck at the training camp, and in the next round of the competition.
