Eva Bennett glass workshop
On Monday, glass artist Eva Bennett came into school to deliver glass workshops to Year 8, Year 9 and Year 12 pupils.
Each pupil created their own glass tile to be included in the special glass mural, which has been commissioned for the School’s 400th anniversary. Once completed, this mural will be displayed both in the main hall and one of the stairwells in the Art Department. The tiles were made by including copper fabric, copper wire and copper oxide stencil designs between two sheets of float glass, all of which will fuse in the kiln to create a range of blue hues within the tiles.
We look forward to welcoming Eva back to the School in the new year to work with Pelican and Prep pupils, who will also be creating their very own piece of glass artwork.
We very much look forward to seeing the finished products!
