Perse team is World Wise
On Thursday evening, two Perse teams entered the annual Geographical Association WorldWise Quiz, hosted at Long Road Sixth Form College.
The two teams, Perse A (Phoebe Penfold, George Long and Oliver Phillips) and Perse B (George Bowden, Rupert Gardiner and Jonathan Black) were up against several teams from other local schools. They initially faced five written rounds, including map work, an alphabet round, a Google images round, a round on local geography and a round on key global landmarks. As a result of their success in these rounds, both Perse teams qualified for the final, along with the team from Comberton Village College.
The three teams played a further three rounds in the final, including individual verbal questions, written questions and team questions. In a very closely contested final, Perse team A came away with the victory finishing on 23 points. Perse B and Comberton tied in second place, both scoring 22 points. There was some fantastic geography knowledge on show, with confident answers coming from The Perse. Very well done to all six Perse participants.
