House Spelling Bee
The House Spelling Bee took place on Tuesday 24 November, with each House being represented by members of Years 7 and 8.
Over three rounds, competitors had to demonstrate their spelling skill through multiple-choice, written spelling and spontaneous oral spelling challenges.
All students performed extremely well, successfully spelling words such as ‘reservoir’, ‘technique’, ‘miscellaneous’, ‘barbiturate’ and ‘concessionaire’!
In the final round, as the words got longer and harder, students were eliminated for each incorrect word. It came down to Barnaby Colvin (Langdale Lions) and Peter White (Pendeen Dragons), who each spelt eight words correctly, before Barnaby was the declared the overall individual winner.
Victory went to the Langdale Lions, but all students involved should be very proud of their performance.
