Girls’ Maths Olympiad success
Before half term, 18 pupils participated in the UK Mathematical Olympiad for Girls, an annual competition to find the most talented female mathematicians nationally.
Six of our pupils received a Distinction certificate, which is awarded to only the top 10% of candidates who sit the challenge. Sixth formers Roan Talbut and Ebony Zhang’s exceptional scores means they have been invited to sit the first round of the British Mathematical Olympiad, and were respectively joint 8th and joint 15th in the UK. Elena Cates in Year 10 also won through to the Intermediate Maths Olympiad.
Congratulations to all involved, and good luck in the next round of the competition.
