The Perse hosts Institute of Economic Affairs Conference
Today, The Perse hosted the Institute of Economic Affairs Conference (IEA), where we welcomed 160 students from local schools for a day of talks and workshops on key issues in economics.
The conference was led by free market economic think tank, Institute of Economic Affairs, and saw pupils from Stephen Perse Foundation, St Mary’s School, Culford School, Hills Road Sixth Form College, Joyce Frankland Academy and Woodbridge School attend. The Institute of Economic Affairs does a great deal of work with young people to equip them with a deep understanding of free market economics.
Dr Steve Davies and Neil Record led the fascinating sessions on China and the global economy, economics and The City and economics of the future. Students also had the chance to find out more about a career in economics, in an informative presentation from Dr Davies. Both speakers are key figures in their fields: Neil Record is the Chairman of the IEA, who specialises in currency management and Dr Davies is the Education Director at the IEA.
