Perse golf team enters ISGA golf competition
On Monday 13 October, Fraser Allen, George Sanders (Year 11) and Oliver Brunt (Year 7) represented the School in the annual ISGA Golf Schools Cup competition.
This was held at Magnolia Park Golf and Country Club in Buckinghamshire, which is a very challenging par 73 layout that measures nearly 7,000 yards. Fraser, handicap 13, scored a highly impressive 89 (+16) that included six pars and a superb birdie on the par 5 1st hole after a stellar approach shot to four feet. Oliver, aged only 12 and playing off 15, scored a very credible 97 (+25) and played some superb approach and chip shots. George, handicap 13, scored 102 (+29) but this does not reflect some of the very impressive shots he played, especially with his driver. Finally, Mr Peter Anderson scored 81 (+8) in the teachers’ competition.
The Perse finished a very credible 12th out of the sixteen schools that entered in the gross competition and 9th in the nett, with Wellington College retaining the trophy. Well done!
