The Perse School

Golf Academy Juniors take on local competition

IMG_3747Students from the Lower School Golf Academy participated in two competitions last week at Cambridge Lakes.

The first was the Power2Inspire Competition, in which teams of three played Texas Scramble. The team of Theo Zamirski, Amarthya Chandrappa and Angus White (all Year 7) scored an excellent 28 (+1 over par), which was the joint best score on the day. Sebastian Garnett (also Year 7) was a member of the other team that scored 28.

The second competition was the Cambridge Inter School Challenge Shield, which saw six Perse pupils pitted against students from other schools in individual matches. The Perse won three of its six matches and drew one, finishing in a commendable third place. A special mention goes to Amarthya Chandrappa, who shot a gross 37.

It is great to see so many young pupils playing and enjoying golf.
