U15 girls’ team win first Perse Invitational Cricket Tournament

28 Apr 2015

U15 teamThe Perse hosted an invitational Indoor cricket tournament for local girls’ cricket teams for the first time at the weekend.

Playing in two pools, the teams played some excellent cricket in this dynamic and exciting format of six-a-side whereby every member bowls an over. The Perse U15A lost their first game against a strong Felsted School team. They made it through as runners-up of their pool as they bowled Framlingham out very quickly, allowing them to score only nine runs. This success secured the team a place in the final, where they played sharp and neat cricket beating Leicester Grammar School (A) to become 2015 champions. The Perse U14A team did superbly well despite playing in an age group above their own, where they ended up taking home fifth place – this is very promising for next year. We hope to make this tournament an annual event as it was superb to see so many girls playing cricket to such a high standard. Thank you to all staff and players for being part of a great day’s cricket.
