The Perse School

Perse golf team is on par

IMG_0082 The Senior Golf Team of Christie Woosey, Michael Pepper and Robin Anand competed in the ISGA National Golf Finals in Sandwich, Kent, over the weekend.

On the first day the boys played at Prince’s Golf Club in wet and blustery conditions. All three achieved commendable scores, with Michael (handicap six) shooting an excellent 81 (+10). On the second day the boys were given the privilege of playing at Royal St. George’s, which has hosted The Open Championship on many occasions. The more benign conditions allowed for
better scoring, with Christie shooting 90, Robin 85 and Michael 80.

Highlights included Robin’s superb three wood to only two feet at the 236 yard par 3 11th, and Christie’s 4 iron approach to the par 4 18th, which rested a few feet from the pin.

The team finished a commendable 18th overall and will be looking to qualify for the National Finals again next year, which will be played at the Old Course at St Andrews.
