Perse success in Biology Olympiad
To add to this term’s catalogue of Olympiad success, the results of the Biology Olympiad have just been announced.
Thirty-nine members of the Sixth Form took part in the Biology Olympiad earlier this term, where collectively they achieved a grand total of three commended, nine highly commended, eight bronze, 11 silver and seven gold awards.
Two Lower Sixth students – Salvador Buse and Anthony Kattuman and two Upper Sixth students – Jamie Bamber and Hamza Wahid scored highly enough to progress to Round 2 of the Olympiad, which places them in the top 2.1% of all students who entered the competition (6000 took part this year!). This is a great achievement which recognises their hard work and both breadth and depth of knowledge of biology.
Jamie was also invited to take part in the British Biology Olympiad finals, which places him in the top 20 students in the country – well done!
