Students take in the sights and sounds of Berlin
Over the half term break, 11 Perse sixth formers headed to Germany for the History and German Department’s biennial trip to Berlin.
It was an action-packed trip, with students taking in some of the famous sights and sounds of the tourist trail, as well as some lesser-known attractions. During their time they visited the Berlin wartime bunkers, the Museum of Resistance, the Brandenburg Gate, the Soviet War memorial, the Museum of the Berlin Wall, the German Historic Museum and the former Stasi headquarters. They also took a tour of the Reichstag and visited the sobering Holocaust memorial.
The Department last visited Berlin in 2013 and the developments in this constantly changing city were noticeable – a great time was had by all!
