Perse pupils make the podium in Linguistics Olympiad
Twenty-one Perse students from Year 11, Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth recently took part in the UK Linguistics Olympiad. The Linguistics Olympiad is a national competition where students analyse patterns in linguistic data.
Ten medals were awarded to our students in total – an excellent achievement. Zoe Durbin, Freddie Follows, Tristan Alphey, Jason Gu, Tilly Thatcher, Paris Jaggers and Alexei Chizh secured Bronze medals, two Silver medals were awarded to Jack Kleeman and Mihir Chandraker, and Rosie Cates gained the top Gold medal.
All those who took part are congratulated for tackling an extremely challenging paper. Special congratulations go to Rosie who achieved the first ever Gold medal for The Perse, which ranks her among the top 5% of Olympiad candidates nationwide.
Well done everyone!
