Flying back in time
Last week, as part of their topic on World War Two, Year 2 headed to the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, to discover more about the machinery used during the conflict.
The chilly wind that swept the airfield added to the atmosphere as the children eagerly moved between hangars to discover more about the vehicles used in World War II. Staff and children enjoyed learning from Ben Hewlett, an aerospace engineer at Marshalls, who ably answered their burning questions. They found out how the Spitfire got its name, and they enjoyed finding out about the Sunderland and the USAF Mustang, which performed a loop the loop flypast for the children!
