Perse success in Mathematical Olympiad
Perse students flexed their mathematical muscle in the British Mathematical Olympiad (BMO) at the end of last year, with some excellent successes.
Just before Christmas, 22 students from Years 11, 12 and 13 qualified to take part in the British Mathematical Olympiad (BMO). Out of these students, 12 received a distinction and nine students qualified for the second round of the competition – a new record for The Perse!
A special mention goes to the following students who did remarkably well – Alex Harris received a gold medal and scored full marks in the paper, whilst Sam Seo and Ebony Zhang both received silver medals, Congratulations also go to Jamie Bamber and Renzhi Zhou, who each received a bronze medal.
Adding to these fantastic achievements, following on from their own success in BMO, Alex Harris and Rosie Cates were also selected for and attended the British Mathematical training camp in Hungary over the New Year – well done to you both!
