The Perse School

Success for Perse pupils in Cambridge cross-country event

Rounding off a successful term, last week, The Perse cross-country team took part in the Cambridge District Schools cross-country event, alongside 10 other schools from the area.

Our Year 7 girls and the Year 10-11 boys all won their categories which was enough to give team Perse the overall win. Stand-out performances came from Jamie Sales (1st in his race), Charlotte Laing (3rd), Tom Blake (3rd), Robert Anderson (6th), Amelie Fawcett (6th), Laura Barraclough (6th), Ethan Seal (8th), Elspeth Rogers (9th), Megan Carmichael (10th) and Josh Borrett (10th) who were competing against over 100 other students in their races. Tim Harrison (3rd), Dan Arbide (5th), Louis McManus (6th) and Eddie Laing (7th) led home a particularly strong effort from the Year 10/11 boys where The Perse had eight of the top 18 runners.

It is very pleasing to see the strength in depth we have now with both our boys’ and girls’ teams.
