Feeling festive at the Prep
Deck the halls! Christmas celebrations are in full swing at the Prep, with this week seeing lots of festive performances featuring lots of fantastic singing and dancing.
Children in Year 3 performed One Night in Bethlehem earlier this week, a play where all the music and lyrics were written by Paul Harris, the Prep’s very own Director of Music. Wearing an impressive range of Christmas knitwear, Year 3 narrated the Christmas Nativity story, interspersed with several catchy tunes. It was a wonderful way to celebrate their first term together at The Prep.
Year 4 also wowed audiences this week, with each form group performing one of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes. 4A’s Little Red Riding Hood showed off the wonderful costume skills of our parents, with a range of woodland animals, a feisty Red Riding Hood and a terrifying wolf!
4Aleph’s production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, was full of musical fun and energy, with horse racing and chase scenes. 4 Alpha rounded off the evening’s proceedings with a performance of Cinderella. The show featured two fantastic ‘Ugly Sisters’ who came to a rather sticky end and some extraordinary dance moves that wouldn’t be out of place on the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor!
Congratulations to all the performers; each play showed wonderful ensemble playing and team spirit, with every child giving their best and thoroughly enjoying themselves.
We look forward to the festivities continuing next week as the Centre Stage drama club put on their performance of The Little Mermaid, a pantomime written by Julia Morris, which includes some familiar Disney songs. Pupils in Year 5 and 6 will also be taking to the stage for their Christmas concert on Tuesday and Wednesday.
