Artists share their expertise with Perse students
This week has seen two artists visit the Art Department to share their expertise with Perse students.
Paul Draper (an Old Persean), who is an artist, interior designer, and specialist in architectural drawings, visited Year 8 pupils. He shared examples of his work, discussed his career and demonstrated his drawing and watercolour techniques. The students were hugely impressed with his drawing skills. He will be returning on 17th November run another workshop with Year 8.
Ceramic artist – Sarah Rooms Heaphy – also paid a visit to the Year 10 GCSE group to share her work and techniques. She shared a powerpoint and demonstrated her ceramic techniques using translucent porcelain paper clay. Students then had the opportunity to try out her techniques for themselves. This workshop provided the students with a great deal of inspiration for their own 3D projects.Sarah will be visiting the School again in February to share her work with more year 10 students.
