The Perse School

1st VII netball team crowned county champs

Yesterday, our 1st VII netball team beat local opposition and became county champions!

The girls played seven matches in the competition (which was a whopping 98 mins of netball), winning all seven of their games. They came up against Hinchinbrooke School, Cronwell School, The Leys School., The Stephen Perse Foundation, St Ivo, Long Road Sixth Form College and Arthur Mellows School.

The girls scored 100 goals and conceded just seven, which is an incredible achievement.

Congratulating the team on their success Head of Girls’ Games Laura Broderick said: “The girls played incredibly well yesterday to defend their title and thoroughly deserve their success, owed to their dedication to training and continuous desire to improve. The Upper Sixth members of the team have won every County netball tournament they have taken part in – U14, U16 and last year’s U19 – so it is a very special achievement for them.”

Well done everyone!
