The Perse School

Perse pupils showcase their musical talents in ensembles concert

Last night, 160 pupils took part in the first large-scale concert of the academic year, a showcase of Year 7-10 ensembles. Wind Band 2 kicked off proceedings with a suitably catchy rendition of Dean Martin’s classic Sway, complemented by a rumba from Intermediate Strings in the second half.

Smaller chamber groups interspersed themselves amongst jazz bands, guitar ensembles and the first performance by the newly formed Perse Voices, who ended the concert with The Beatles’ A Little Help from My Friends.

Well done to all who took part – after just four full weeks of preparations this was a very polished evening which has set the standard for performances in the year ahead!
