Pupils get an insight into Physics at Work
Yesterday, all Year 10 pupils visited the ‘Physics at Work’ exhibition which is hosted by the University of Cambridge Department of Physics at the Cavendish Laboratory.
Each group of 18 pupils saw six different presentations from speakers in industry or university research on subjects as diverse as astrophysics, superconductivity, polymers, fracture, optoelectronics, jet engines and ink jet printers. The presentations included some practical demonstrations and hands-on involvement and time to ask questions.
It was a great opportunity for the pupils to talk to people involved in science and technology about their careers as well as to learn about some cutting edge science and technology.
