Perse students achieve best ever GCSE results for the second year running

This year students have surpassed the results of last year’s record-breakers to achieve the School’s best ever GCSE and IGCSE results.
92% of entries were graded A* or A (up from 90% last year). More than half the year group achieved eight or more A*s.
- 70% of entries were graded A*.
- 52% of students achieved 8 or more A* grades and 24% gained 10 or more A* grades.
- 99% of entries were graded A*- B.
- 100% of students secured at least 5 A*-C grades.
- 100% of students secured at least 5 A*-C grades with English and maths.
- 33 students achieved a clean sweep of the top grade in all their GCSE/IGCSE subjects.
Head Ed Elliott said:
“Following on from our record breaking AS results last week, I congratulate Perse students on achieving the School’s best ever GCSE results with 70% of entries graded at A*. More than half the year group achieved eight or more A*s and 99% of entries were graded A* to B. These exceptional results are testimony to the talents and endeavour of our students and the quality and commitment of our teachers.”
One Year 11 student not only achieved 12 A* GCSE/IGCSE grades but also took A level maths two years early and scored an A* with the maximum marks of 600/600.
In addition, 72 students in Year 10 took IGCSE maths a year early and all secured an A*.
